pavlisperkins This is really something special. The first three tracks are brilliant takes on punk, recalling the likes of Crass, Poison Girls, Flux of Pink Indians, X-Ray Spex, Slits and riot grrl. It is the closing track ”Garden Song” that does it for me, tho’: vocals that are somehow both soaring and ethereal over “positive punk” that could’ve come out of the Batcave in the early 80s. Beautiful. Favorite track: Garden Song.

RIP Rosie Davis.

LVEUM was working on releasing CRY OUT 12" by the time I heard the terrible news of Rosie passing away. After much thinking I decided that the best way to remember Rosie the way she was would be by releasing the record. At the time of her passing the recording wasn't finished, neither was the artwork. I am still working on the artwork but as of now, July 11th, the record has already been cut and it is at the pressing plant. I expect to have the record ready in 5-6 weeks but please if you order it be patient as artwork may delay it.

For the Canadians reading this, there will a very big chunk of the press going directly to Montreal and hopefully Halifax.

MUS228 CRY OUT - More Echoes Of A Question Never Answered... Why? 12”

More Echoes Of A Question Never Answered... Why? 12” is the posthumous release of Rosie Davis's solo project. On it the Nova Scotia artist poured all her soul into four very special songs, which were not fully completed by the time of her passing. The DIY recording is crude and rudimentary, and obviously influenced by the golden era of British anarcho punk but with nods to so many colourful elements. Mixing CRASS, FLUX OF PINK INDIANS, HONEY BANE and SAD LOVERS AND GIANTS to create a very personal drum machine fuelled punk record. With very personal lyrics giving the recording a layer of intimacy and creating a record clearly of its time.

The sleeve artwork was designed by Rosie herself with a back cover pieced together with some artwork the family had. The record comes with an 8-page lyric booklet in a 300 press and the proceeds for its sale will be donated to Rosie’s family.
